Hollow Cone Nozzles
Hollow cone spray pattern nozzles concentrate spray droplets on the outer surface of the cone. No droplets are distributed on the inside of the spray pattern, hence the description “hollow cone”. These nozzles are normally used for gas scrubbing and gas cooling applications but can be adapted to many other industrial applications.
The turbulence design of hollow cone nozzles uses a tangential injection of liquid into a precision-engineered nozzle chamber. Simply put – the liquid enters the nozzle chamber at a right-angle generating a centrifugal force and creating a hollow cone spray pattern. It is possible to achieve very wide spray angles with this design.

In-line hollow cone spray nozzle work by directing the flow through through the nozzle. Liquid then either deflects off a surface to create a hollow cone spray pattern or liquid travel through a vane to create the same effect.
The PNR RA series hollow cone spray nozzle is an in-line hollow cone design. The hollow cone is produced via a specially designed internal vane. The PNR RCY & RCZ spray nozzles produce a ring-shaped hollow cone spray pattern by deflecting the liquid off a plate directly in front of the nozzle orifice. The PNR RXT & RZQ type spray nozzle is a hydraulic atomiser producing a very fine mist. These work well at low pressures but work extremely well at higher pressures too. The RXT produces an 80° spray angle whereas the RZQ produced a 60° spray angle. A filter is recommended with these nozzles as they can be prone to blocking. Available in BSPT & NPT threads.
