AIR ASSISTED ATOMIZERS
Some industrial processes require liquids to be atomized
into fine or a very fine droplets. In the vast majority of
industrial processes air assisted atomizing nozzles are being
used to achieve this. The liquid is atomized using a compressed
air supply that is capable of producing fine to extremely
fine droplets. This section gives examples of the two main
types of atomizers available; Ultrasonic and Classic Atomizers.
It should however be noted that an air atomizing system could
have two inherent limitations:
1.) The high-pressure pumps and lines required can be costly
2.) The small orifice on an hydraulic atomizer can easily
become clogged, impairing the systems reliability.
